Howard Nett has over 20 years of experience as both as a performing musician and composer. On both guitar and bass, Howard’s unique and eclectic style is based in the blues and combines elements of jazz, Latin, and funk. While leading New Sun Born, a popular jazz/hip-hop ensemble from San Francisco, Howard opened for artists including Black Eyed Peas, The Roots, Digital Underground, and KRS-One. New Sun Born toured successfully throughout Northern California and recorded a demo single for Warner Bros. Records.
Howard’s musical studies at San Francisco State University
exposed him to musical influences including jazz arranger Ray Brown and the legendary
Joe Lovano. Throughout his training, Howard has immersed himself in a broad
spectrum of musical genres, even performing in a Balinese gamelan ensemble.
